Free Mustard Seeds

Hi! This is Fr. Patrick Gonyeau, a priest in the Archdiocese of Detroit, and I'd love to share with you the Word of God. I was once an agnostic and dared God to show me He was real...and the rest is history. There is no greater gift that we can receive than Jesus Christ who brings us the joy of salvation! It is my hope and prayer that these homilies bring to you and those you share them with the joy of knowing and loving Jesus...who is calling all of us! In Chapter 7 of Mark's Gospel, we read of the wonderful healing of the man who was deaf and mute.  In this reflection, we consider how the Lord heals us in His perfect love, and how we can share His healing love with others.

In chapter 7 of the gospel of Mark, we hear Jesus criticize some of the Pharisees & Scribes with words first delivered through the prophet Isaiah, "this people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, in vain do they worship me."  This reflection looks at the intimate and transformational power of the worship of God that Jesus speaks of in John 4:23 "The hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; and indeed the Father seeks such people to worship Him."
