Free Mustard Seeds

Hi! This is Fr. Patrick Gonyeau, a priest in the Archdiocese of Detroit, and I'd love to share with you the Word of God. I was once an agnostic and dared God to show me He was real...and the rest is history. There is no greater gift that we can receive than Jesus Christ who brings us the joy of salvation! It is my hope and prayer that these homilies bring to you and those you share them with the joy of knowing and loving Jesus...who is calling all of us! The wonderful testimony of Maria's back being healed after months of pain following childbirth, praise Jesus, Happy Holy Week to all!

Mar 22, 2021

On the cusp of entering into Holy Week, Jesus invites us into His passion, "the hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified."(Jn12:23)  The hour of His passion, death and resurrection is at hand and He invites to come close and learn more about His heart for us and the love that led Him to give himself completely in sacrificial love for us.  The hour has come...

In chapter 3 of John's Gospel, we hear Jesus tell us "just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert so must the Son of man be lifted up so that everyone who believes in Him might have eternal life." (Jn 3:14)  He was raised up, crucified and died for us as the ultimate act of merciful love!  We look at how the mercy of Jesus is poured out in the sacrament of confession He established on the night of Easter. (Jn 20:19-23)

After Jesus cleansed the temple in Jerusalem (John 2), we read that "his disciples recalled the words of scripture, zeal for your house will consume me." (Jn 2:17)   We consider the zeal of the Lord Jesus for you and I...

We look at The Transfiguration of Jesus described in Mark 9 and see that the revelation of the divine nature of Jesus is a revelation of our life in Christ:  a life of grace.  We consider the power of the sacrament of confession to allow Jesus to help us grow in holiness.
