Free Mustard Seeds

Hi! This is Fr. Patrick Gonyeau, a priest in the Archdiocese of Detroit, and I'd love to share with you the Word of God. I was once an agnostic and dared God to show me He was real...and the rest is history. There is no greater gift that we can receive than Jesus Christ who brings us the joy of salvation! It is my hope and prayer that these homilies bring to you and those you share them with the joy of knowing and loving Jesus...who is calling all of us! 02/05/17 - Homily for the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells His disciples that “you are the light of the world”.  In Jesus time, to have light, you needed fire.  When it comes to the kind of light Jesus is talking about His disciples shining forth in the world, it’s the same in our time as well.  We need the fire of His love.
